Schedule

Because they have been trying to win the IPL for the past 15 years, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be expecting to finally hoist the prized trophy this year. On April 2, RCB will face the Mumbai Indians at home to open their season. Faf du Plessis will continue to oversee the RCB team for the 2023 IPL season, just like he did last year! Together with other IPL teams including Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB is grouped in group B of the IPL 2023. The RCB hopes to replicate its performance from last year, when it made it to the playoff round.

The 16th T20 tournament, or IPL 2023, is scheduled to start on March 31 and go through May 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired 7 players for their roster during the IPL 2023 auction, with Will Jacks fetching the highest price at Rs. 3.20 crores.

Change of Captain and Virat Kohli

The RCB team will be led by Faf du Plessis in the IPL 2023 season. In the IPL 2022, he took Virat Kohli’s place as RCB captain. From 2013 until 2021, Kohli remained the captain of the RCB. Du Plessis was purchased by the RCB for INR 7 crore from the auction, and he was appointed captain of the team last year.

In the forthcoming 16th season of the IPL, RCB Director Mike Hesson has already declared that Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis will open the innings. Both are anticipated to start strong because they both gave great performances in their previous appearances. While Kohli will serve as an anchor batter, captain Faf Du Plessis has the freedom to go all out and score runs quickly.

Batting Stats and Players

Even if Glenn Maxwell didn’t have a great IPL 2022, we all know what he is capable of. Last season, he went 13 innings and scored 301 runs. This IPL season, the management will be counting on him to deliver. He will be an important member of the team’s middle order.

For RCB, Dinesh Karthik was one of the IPL 2022’s highlights. He played a few standout innings, finishing games for the squad as the innings progressed. His batting past season was distinguished by a strike rate of above 180. He’ll be aiming for another strong IPL showing.

They also have Shahbaz Nadim and Mahipal Lomror, who are both in excellent condition and prepared to fire. Nadim is capable of playing the long handle and supporting Dinesh Karthik well in the innings’ closing stages.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Home and Away Matches 2023

At Bengaluru’s M Chinaswamy Stadium, RCB will hold home games. Due to COVID epidemic restrictions during the previous three seasons, RCB will be competing at their home ground for the first time since the IPL 2019. On April 20 they will travel to face PBKS, and on May 21 they will play their last league stage game against defending champions GT. In the rematch, Royal Challengers Bangalore will play home to KKR on April 26 before traveling to Mumbai to take on five-time champions MI on May 9.
